Dear signers, I want to update you with some slightly good but yet little news. So, as you know, I have been looking for 9/11 family members opinion on this horrible Ingels design of Two World Trade Center. So, I decided to reach family member Debra Burlingame (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debra_Burlingame), who lost her brother on 9/11. I tweeted her on Twitter the following "@DebraBurlingame Hi Debra! I am tweeting you today to ask you, what is your opinion on @BjarkeIngels redesign of #2WTC?" she responded and asked me for our website, which I responded with the link to the website. She than said "@Save2WTC @BjarkeIngels The staircase design is ugly in the extreme; not harmonious with site." I agreed with her opinion, and glad she opposes the Bjarke redesign of Two World Trade Center. I said thank you, a 9/11 family members opinion is very important. She responded "@Save2WTC @BjarkeIngels I don't think my status makes my opinion special re architectural design. Everything at that site has been a battle." Personally, I think 9/11 family members opinion about the battle is more important than the public's, but I do understand Burlingame's point on the matter. It seems like Silverstein, PANYNJ, and anyone affiliated with the development will not listen to anyone except money. Anyway, I am glad we got an opinion from her, and this will be a good email to Silverstein Properties, and to tell them to listen to 9/11 family members, and the public NOW. Well I thank everybody for your continued support for this movement, cause, or whatever you may call it. Cheers!
Jul 30, 2015 — Dear supports,
since our founding, Terminate Ingels has encouraged our supports to participate in our movement to stop the Two World Trade Center design by Bjarke Ingels. We received a great email from Frank Theodore. He said that "I get sick to my stomach to think that such a significant piece of architecture has been handed to some nihilist with no sense of history, architecture, or culture." After reading that, I was very interested in what Mr. Theodore had to say. It sounded like it was going to be a great opinionated column, with some facts to present why this design is... well a national disgrace as Frank said. I read his "column" as I call it, and it was good. I thought it presented a good reasons why it should not be built, with some opinion and facts presented in a nice style. Frank said it was not very polished, but I thought it had better reasons than mine why not to build Bjarke Ingels' Two World Trade Center. So after reading it, I knew Terminate Ingels supporters would love to see Frank's column. I encourage you to read this column as I think it mentions some good points. I hope your all doing well, and I always try to remember to say THANK YOU for your signature and efforts at stopping this design. Check Frank's column in the link attached to this post. Dear Supports: I know this is not very exciting news, nor really news at all, but I have been thinking of ways to get more signatures on our petition, and I got a great idea. I am making promotional products about Terminate Ingels. I am currently in the process of making Brochures why people should oppose Bjarke Ingels' design of Two World Trade Center. They will be ready next month. When they are ready, you can enter a drawing on our Facebook page, and I will mail you some. I will keep you all updated once they are ready. For now, you can see our design attached to this post. I also want to thank each and everyone of you, for the millionth time, for signing the petition and sharing with friends and family. Without you, our petition and movement would be a flop. Thank YOU!
Hey everybody, long time no see!...
So, I want to update you: We have a NEW facebook page! Please give us a like and invite your friends to support our cause to stop Ingels! The URL is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Terminate-Ingels/481909655309492?sk=timeline. Now to the important feedback... Apparently NY Curbed (URL: http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2015/07/23/new_2_world_trade_center_design_wins_praise_from_community.php) did a story today about Two World Trade Center... but guess what the headline was? "New 2 World Trade Center Design Wins Praise From Community"... EXCUSE ME? I don't think so Curbed... Apparently the article says that quote " 2 World Trade Center has been the subject of both praise ("Cool, build it!") and criticism ("Meh"), but none of that matters now that the stacked-box design has won the highest honors some more praise from its neighbors in Manhattan Community Board 1." Well, it's time to contact the Manhattan Community Board 1 about their derision... a not so smart one anyway...Well, I can assume that 21st Century Fox payed them to advocate that opinion... It seems like all corporations do that these days... I continued to read on NY Curbed into the comments section, and here is a great comment from TotalFecal: "The community is stupid." That is right TotalFecal, they are stupid! They make an opinion without thinking why this design is not fit architecturally among other things, for it to be built on the World Trade Center site... Well, that's really all I have to update you about today... I will be inactive for a few days due to vacationing, but please do contact me if you have questions or comments... Thank you for your support!!!!!! Jun 14, 2015 — Dear supporters of this cause,
We have been working as hard as we can to get this design shut down. It's a horrible design and it just does not match the Manhattan skyline. I have emailed Silverstein Properties about why this design should not be built, but their response was not what I was hoping for, and was kind of cheesy. "Dear Gabriel, Thanks for your email, I appreciate you reaching out to me. While I don’t agree with you on the new design of 2 WTC, I fully support your right to voice your opinion and would be happy to receive the signatures you collect. If you find yourself with a few minutes in Lower Manhattan, I would be happy to show you around the new WTC (and maybe change your mind!) All the best, Dara." So, this email was sent by Mr. Dara McQuillan, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of Silverstein Properties. Obviously he did not agree with the public about how HORRIBLE this ugly design is, but then he try's to distract me by inviting me to a free tour of the World Trade Center complex and said "and maybe you will change your mind!"... NOT. This design needs not to be built, and I am happy to have you supporters for the cause. We need to come backs stronger than this stupid Cheif marketing officer, and Silverstein Properties. Their priorities are with big bucks in their pockets and not the beauty and architectural taste of Manhattan. Silverstein Properties, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Bjarke Ingels should be receiving all of your signatures, so lets pray that it's not going to their junk folders! I have devised up a stew for success, so let's not give up! WE CAN cancel this plan. I have some ideas for all of you gals and guys. #1, share this petition. That's right, if you have any family, friends, or strangers that are interested in architecture (or whatever you want to call it, politics, corruption, money suckers, etc), please share this petition with them, and not just sharing this petition, but tell them to sign it and for them to share it as well. We need as much signatures as we can. #2, you get involved with our cause. That's right ya all, I ain't tryin' to talk with a southern accent to be cheesy, but with ya all involved, this cause will be so much more effective. Please email Silverstein Properties ([email protected]), as well as Bjarke Ingels ([email protected]), and tell them why this design needs to be stop, and please mention our petition/cause as well. So... what am I doing? Well, I am at the moment emailing the World Trade Center Survivors Network for 9/11 survivors opinions about this ugly and eye sore design. I am also sending Bjarke Ingels an email, even though he/his architectural firm should be getting these petition signatures. I am also devising a plan to email and contact some news agencies for some media attention. We desperately need it! Are you a journalist? Email us! Are you a support with ideas? Email us! Please contact us with YOUR comments, ideas, or just to say "hi ya all!", please email all inquires to [email protected]. I want to thank each person who signed that your a big help to this cause and to the skyline of Manhattan. Thank you!
